The machine route is the HydraFacial Signature, 60 minutes for $150. Our menu describes it as a HydraFacial cleanse with a gentle exfoliating peel, light-suction extraction and intense hydration. Squeezing is the other habit we see constantly. Fingernails press on the skin around the pore, not only on the pore itself. That leaves a red mark, and the mark can outlast the blackhead by weeks. You traded a small dark dot for a bigger red one.

Can I squeeze blackheads at home instead?

We would rather you did not. Fingernails press on the skin around the pore as well as the pore itself. That mark can outlast the blackhead by weeks. In the studio the skin is softened first, so far less pressure is needed to clear the same pore.
Does a deep cleansing facial help with acne?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. A facial can make mild congestion and clogged-looking pores less obvious for a few weeks. Acne that keeps coming back month after month is a dermatologist question, not a spa one. Take the acne itself to a doctor.
Will my skin look red afterwards?

There is no downtime, so most guests go straight back to their day. Small pink marks can appear around the spots that were cleared, and they fade on their own. Tell us before we start if your skin goes red easily. We can work a smaller area and use less pressure.
