A head spa near Mill Creek.
Mill Creek doesn't have to mean a trek for a proper head spa. Our Lynnwood studio sits just south of the Town Center, a few minutes down the Bothell–Everett Highway, which makes it the natural home base for Mill Creek guests.
In a head spa, the scalp itself gets most of the attention. You get a careful cleanse that lifts weeks of oil and product and a long scalp-and-shoulder massage. Then there's a hydrotherapy step that feels a bit like warm rain. We opened in 2022 as the first specialized head spa in the Seattle area, and we still put the scalp first.
A scalp massage is a kind of hands-on relaxation, so a lot of what you get from it is time to slow down. The NCCIH points out that people in many cultures have practiced massage for a very long time. It also notes that the risk of harm is low with a trained provider. That's useful background if a head spa will be your first massage of any kind.
People who've never tried a head spa often expect a quick wash-and-go. Then they're caught off guard by how restful it is. The lights stay low and nobody rushes you. What a head spa involves.
A head spa combines a deep cleanse, scalp care, massage and conditioning, and its roots are in Japanese scalp-care technique. You walk out with a scalp that feels cleaner, and usually with a clearer head as well.
A typical visit moves from a scalp reading to a thorough cleanse, then into the massage and hydrotherapy that most guests come back for, before a finishing blow-dry. Some treatments layer in a hair mask, steam or a scalp serum, chosen to match what your scalp needs on the day.
Why does it feel this good? The scalp, neck and shoulders slowly collect tension over weeks and months, and hardly any of us give that part of the body real care. Slow, warm, careful work there helps the rest of you relax too, so the effect goes past your skin. A rushed appointment doesn't leave enough time for that to happen.
What the scalp massage feels like
The massage moves slowly across the scalp and down into the neck and shoulders. That's often right where a long week settles. Along with the warm water and the quiet room, it's the part guests mention when they tell us why they rebooked. Nothing about it is forceful. If you'd like more or less pressure, say so and we'll adjust.

A 60-minute D4 Signature Head Spa is the middle-ground favorite and a solid first booking. We'll help you choose based on your scalp and how much time you have.

Every treatment and price is listed below, and they're the same at both of our studios. Pricing opens at $50 for the 30-minute TCM Head Aromatherapy and reaches $220 for the 90-minute Scalp Revitalize Therapy, with the 60-minute D4 Signature Head Spa at $85.
If you want deeper cleansing, the 90-minute Floral Head Spa Therapy ($150) and Purifying Scalp Care ($168) go further. The Aura Scalp Treatment ($110) adds a scalp analysis, serum and blow-dry in 75 minutes. Tense neck and shoulder muscles can add to everyday head tension, and the Mayo Clinic notes that gentle massage of the scalp, neck and shoulders can help ease it. That's why we never treat the massage as an afterthought. Gratuity isn't included.
Gift cards are available and can be used at both studios, if you'd like to share this with someone. Picking a first treatment doesn't have to be hard. The 60-minute Signature covers the basics well, and the 75- and 90-minute options will still be there next time. Call us and we'll talk it through based on your scalp and how much time you have.

We see guests from every side of Mill Creek at the Lynnwood studio. Bothell and Lynnwood are right next door, Edmonds is a short drive west, and Mountlake Terrace is a little farther south. From anywhere in the area, it's rarely more than a short trip.
Our Lynnwood address is 18500 33rd Ave W Suite C, and it's the closest option for nearly everyone in Mill Creek. If your day takes you toward Seattle instead, the Shoreline studio at 15507 Westminster Way N Ste 7E runs the same menu at the same prices and hours.
A lot of Mill Creek guests fit a head spa into a normal errand run. The Lynnwood studio is only a few minutes off the roads most people already drive. Parking is easy and we're open into the evening. You don't have to make a big deal of it. Plenty of regulars stop in on the way home and are still back before dinner.

Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 8 PM. You can fit in a head spa after work or on a slow weekend afternoon. Reserve online or call (206) 688-9700, and let us know if you're planning a visit for five or more.
A first visit takes no prep. You don't have to wash your hair first, and there's nothing to bring. Come a few minutes early, let us know if your scalp is sensitive, and get comfortable. Most guests are back out the door within the hour with clean, blow-dried hair. More than a few decide on the drive home that this is going to be a regular thing.
A quick note: a head spa is relaxation and scalp care. It isn't medical treatment, and it won't regrow hair or cure a scalp condition. Our Lynnwood studio is just south of Mill Creek, a few minutes down the Bothell–Everett Highway, making it the closest of our two locations. The Shoreline studio is farther south, toward Seattle.
Is a head spa a good idea if my scalp gets oily or flaky?

Often, yes. Many of our treatments are built around deep cleansing to clear excess oil and product buildup, and several can be adjusted for a dry or flaky scalp. If you have a severe or persistent scalp condition, it's best to check with a professional first.
What is the hydrotherapy step everyone mentions?

It's warm water flowing gently over the scalp near the end of the treatment, sometimes called halo water therapy. It rinses and soothes the scalp, and it's usually the moment guests remember most. It's very relaxing and a little unexpected the first time.
How long does a head spa session take?

Most sessions run 45 to 90 minutes, and our menu also includes a 30-minute option for a quick reset. Longer luxury treatments give the cleanse and massage more room, so you can match the length to the time you have.
Can I get a head spa if my hair is color-treated?

Yes. Head spas suit straight, wavy, curly, fine, thick and color- or chemically-treated hair, and each session is customized. A standard treatment shouldn't noticeably affect professional color, though very deep cleansing can fade color slightly over time. Let us know if your color is recent.
Does a head spa hurt?

No. It's meant to be gentle and relaxing from start to finish. If your scalp is sensitive or you have any scalp concerns, tell your provider beforehand and we'll keep the pressure comfortable.
What will my scalp and hair feel like afterward?
