Seattle is hard on a scalp. From October into May it lives under hoods, beanies and drizzle, staying covered and damp and rarely getting any air. Then summer comes, and it's sun, sweat and trail dust until September. Guests at our Shoreline studio almost never describe the same scalp in January as in July. That's why we stopped treating scalp care as one product at one price.

D4 Season opened here in 2022 as Seattle's first specialized head spa, and the biggest thing the years since have taught us is range. Our studio at 15507 Westminster Way N Ste 7E, just off Aurora, has seen every kind of north-end scalp, from hat-flattened February hair to post-hike August roots. That's why our menu runs from $50 to $258 instead of sitting around one price.

This page follows the way our regulars actually book, which is by depth rather than scalp type. Book a quick reset when the week ran long, or a deep clean when your scalp needs real work. The full revitalize is for the times you want everything we know how to do in one appointment. One caveat first: we're a wellness studio and not a clinic. If something about your scalp worries you, like soreness that lingers or patchy shedding, start with a dermatologist. Book with us once you've had the all-clear.

Every depth uses the same steps, and the longer tiers give each one more time. A session always runs analysis, then targeted treatment, then massage, then conditioning. Even the 30-minute aromatherapy visit starts with a look at your scalp, since a treatment done without looking ends up generic. On the longer tiers, that look becomes a magnified analysis, and the cleansing, massage and conditioning stages each stretch to match the time booked.

The analysis is also when we'll tell you if you booked the wrong depth. That happens more than you'd think. Someone books a quick reset to be safe and turns out to have a whole winter of residue, or books the deep clean when their scalp mostly needed rest. Moving down a tier can happen on the spot. Moving up depends on the day's schedule, so mention it when you book if you want that option held. We want the session to fit the scalp in the chair, whatever button you clicked online.

First visit and not sure where to start? The two we recommend most are the Signature ($85) and the Aura ($110). Either one gives you enough depth to feel what the studio does, without committing to one of the longest treatments. Hours are Monday to Saturday 10 AM to 9 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 8 PM. Come with unwashed hair if you can stand it, since the analysis is more accurate that way. After the longer sessions, give yourself a spare fifteen minutes instead of rushing back to the car. Four years of doing this in Shoreline have taught us one thing for sure: the treatment works better when you take your time leaving, too.
